Dear colleagues,
The Chair of the Health Infrastructure Board, Lucio Di Bartolomeo, and I share with you today that Rebecca Wark has made the decision to resign from her role as Chief Executive of Health Infrastructure (HI) and will leave in June.
Rebecca has worked in and around HI for over 16 years and as HI’s Chief Executive for the past 5 years. After a busy and accomplished tenure, we respect and support her decision.
Under Rebecca’s stewardship, HI has excelled in its delivery through some of the toughest challenges and economic conditions of our time. HI has garnered a strong reputation for excellence in its collaboration, forward thinking, governance and delivery standards to become a highly regarded partner across government and industry, nationally. The HI team has delivered projects and programs across all parts of the state and Rebecca’s passion for regional and remote communities has always been clear.
Rebecca has also prioritised maintaining great culture within HI as well as seeking to drive meaningful cultural change in the construction industry, supporting wellbeing and helping to attract and retain a diverse workforce, including more women, to the sector. Her leadership also played a key role in the health construction sector’s continuity during the pandemic, working across government and industry, and she has focused extensively on building strong and lasting relationships with HI’s stakeholders at all levels.
Rebecca’s last day will be finalised in coming weeks and Emma Skulander (HI Chief Operating Officer) will act as Chief Executive from that date, while we progress the recruitment process for a new Chief Executive for HI.
Rebecca’s vision and leadership have made a long-lasting contribution to NSW Health, and indeed to NSW, and we are immensely grateful for her time here. Please join me in extending our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Rebecca for her service and wishing her the very best in her future endeavours.
Kind regards,
Susan Pearce AM
Secretary, NSW Health
