Move and Improve Workshop |

Join our PDHPE workshop presented by former PE teacher Sarah Riddington at either Dee Why or Hornsby. Each teacher who attends the workshop will receive a FREE take home resource pack! Topic: Literacy and Numeracy in Action Date/time/location: -

In Focus - School Play Space |

The recent NSLHD School Play Space Workshop was well received by all in attendance. UNSW researcher Fatemeh Aminpour presented on the latest research and demonstrated that it’s not just about having a play space full of options, but the paths and linkages to move around the play spaces that are essential for reducing conflict and ensuring best play space design. Two P&C representatives shared the amazing work of parents in schools to drive play space improvements. Vegetable Week & The Big Vegie Crunch – Participate in this school-based event in Week 10 (27-31 March) and get students excited about vegetables! Join the attempt by NSW primary schools to break the record for the highest number of children eating vegetables simultaneously. Register here.
Butterfly Foundation: Education Resources – Access a range of curriculum resources, fact sheets and digital clips to support body image education in schools.
Sun Safety Resources for Schools - By the age of 15, many children have developed irreversible skin damage from sun exposure. Use these resources for whole school strategies and educational materials to improve sun safety at your school. See here for sun smart games and books for students.

School attendance: recorded webinar – What does poor attendance tell us about how students feel about school, and what can we do about it?
BLENDED Youth Mental Health First Aid Training – face-to-face and online courses provides school staff with skills to support a young person experiencing ill mental health. See attached flyer for more information.

Sporting Schools Grant – Applications open 27th February and close 10th March.
NSW Government's Community Building Partnership (CBP) – Supports projects that deliver positive social, environmental and recreational outcomes. Successful 2022 projects can be viewed here. Applications open in May.

New Elective PL Course: Waste and Sustainability in Schools. A 5-hour workshop with Kimbriki Eco House and Garden on 31st March. Standards addressed: 2.1.2, 6.2.2, 6.3.2. To support schools in incorporating sustainability into their programs and whole school planning, enabling teachers to feel confident with teaching lessons. $50.00 per person with a light lunch provided.
