GoodSAM volunteers in action

While working at Sydney Airport, GoodSAM volunteer Dane Henderson received a notification about a cardiac arrest nearby. He quickly arrived at a cafe, where Ferdinand (pictured here with his daughter) needed chest compressions. Thanks to Dane’s swift actions, Ferdinand received the immediate care he needed and survived.

Did you know: Sydney Airport has one of the best outcomes for cardiac arrest patients, as staff are trained in CPR and AEDs are easily available.

Read Ferdinand and Dane's story.

The GoodSAM team

What’s been happening

In recent months, the GoodSAM team has been busy connecting with the community and inspiring more people to get involved.

We had a fantastic time at the NRL Emergency Services match between the Sydney Roosters and Canberra Raiders on 1 September, as well as at Restart a Heart Day on 16 October at Parramatta Farmers Market.

Both events were perfect opportunities to raise awareness about bystander CPR and the life-saving role that GoodSAM volunteers play.

Thank you to everyone who connected with us and showed their support for CPR education.
