NSW Ambulance medical stores are currently processed and delivered through HealthShare at Westmead (Dock 9). Dock 9 will cease operations on Friday 24 November 2023. The delivery of stores will transition to the OneLink warehouse from Monday 27 November 2023.
Why are these changes occurring? As part of the Westmead Hospital Redevelopment plans, HealthShare Westmead warehouse must close so the building can be handed over to Health Infrastructure for redevelopment. HealthShare NSW is using the required change as an opportunity to establish a whole of NSW Health medical consumable warehouse service with OneLink.
Ordering process
The ordering process will not change. Stations will continue to submit their stores orders to NSW Ambulance Finance who will process them.
It is important to note, that some consumables have updated suppliers and HIMF numbers. Staff are encouraged to always order from the live stores catalogue. Do not save the catalogue locally to ensure you are ordering from the current stock lists.
Metropolitan and Regional Ambulance Stations may now receive a weekly delivery of general stores. Stations should refer to the cut-off times below.
Product suppliers
Clinical Systems has engaged in active consultation with HealthShare NSW to review consumables that will transition from their current supplier. All consumables that are changing brands have been assessed and where changes to clinical practice are identified further communication will be released.
HealthShare NSW will continue to deliver the current brands until stocks have been exhausted. At this time, those brands that are changing will transition. Stations are not required to perform any action during this process.

Mail and Medical Equipment
Metropolitan stations should note, with Dock 9 closing, the mail and medical equipment runs will no longer be connected with stores deliveries. Stores deliveries will be made by TOLL and the drivers will have access to the stations to deliver stock in the same manner as Dock 9 currently. This will however be a stock delivery and pickup of OneLink tote returns only.
For regional stations, there will be no change to your dispatch process as stock is currently being delivered by TOLL.
Metro medical equipment servicing/repairs and replacements
Stations will need to arrange a point-to-point courier from their location to Medical Equipment Management Unit (MEMU) Team. |
- Attach a fault tag to the faulty equipment.
-
Phone: Team Global Express (formally TOLL) or Tel 13 32 78 or book in your usual way using Account code: NSWAMB (for Metro), and Type: Courier.
